Payment options are changing

 What's changing and when?

Lasertrade will stop accepting credit and debit card payments after the end of day on Tuesday 29 September 2026. Any card payments not completed by this time will not be processed.

Why are we removing card payments?

Following recent reforms by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), businesses are no longer able to pass on card surcharges to customers.

Card processing fees on high-value equipment purchases are substantial, and absorbing them would mean higher costs across the platform for everyone.

Rather than raise prices, we've chosen to focus on secure, fee-free payment methods that transfer funds directly from your bank account.

How can you pay from Wednesday 30 September 2026?

  • Direct debit – pay directly from your bank account, as you can today.
  • Finance – available on devices priced above $5,000 through our partner Quest (see below).

We're also developing additional bank transfer options over the coming months and will let you know as these become available.

New: finance for devices over $5,000

We've partnered with Quest to offer finance on devices priced above $5,000, so you can spread the cost of your equipment over time.

On eligible listings, select Repayment options to see indicative weekly repayments and submit your details, and a Quest finance specialist will be in touch to discuss your options. Finance is subject to credit approval, terms and conditions.

What does this mean for buyers?

  • Paying on or before Tuesday 29 September 2026: you can still pay by credit or debit card, provided payment is completed by the end of the day.
  • Paying from Wednesday 30 September 2026: card payments will no longer be available, and you'll need to pay by direct debit or apply for finance on eligible devices.
