Lasertrade Community Guidelines

To keep the Lasertrade marketplace functioning effectively, we know it is important for members to be able to communicate easily with each other.

However, to keep everyone in our community safe we have guidelines and policies that cover how you communicate. We're asking buyers and sellers, to adhere to the following simple guidelines: be nice and be honest.

Warning: Violation of any of these guidelines may result in account suspension in accordance with the Buyer / Seller Terms and Conditions.

Offering to buy or sell outside of Lasertrade

Offering to buy or sell outside of Lasertrade is not allowed. Buyers and sellers also can't share contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers, prior to completing a transaction on Lasertrade.

Contacting another Lasertrade member to discuss moving a purchase off Lasertrade exposes both the buyer and seller to the risk of fraud. It also means both buyer and seller are not covered by our protections.

Buyers and sellers can't:

  • Engage in any action with a user on the site designed to complete or facilitate a transaction outside of Lasertrade
  • Share or request direct contact information prior to completing a sale
  • In any communications with another Lasertrade member, refer to or promote external websites that facilitate sales outside of Lasertrade or other businesses
  • Use contact information obtained through a Lasertrade transaction to offer to buy or sell an item outside of Lasertrade
  • List an item and then mention or link to identical or related items for sale outside of Lasertrade

Buyers and sellers should:

  • Complete purchases on Lasertrade in order to be covered by Lasertrade protections.

Guidelines for everyone:

  • No Harassment: Harassment is strictly prohibited. This includes attacks on individuals such as repeated unwanted contact, or degrading comments.
  • No Sexual Harassment: Sellers and buyers may not direct unwanted sexual advances or solicitations, sexual objectification, or degrading comments or content towards others. 
  • No Hate: Hate is strictly prohibited. This includes all behaviour, content, communications, or products that engage in or promote the discrimination or denigration of individuals or groups based on the following protected characteristics: race, ethnicity, colour, caste, national origin, immigration status, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious medical condition, and veteran status. 
  • Treat Lasertrade staff with respect: It can be frustrating when things go wrong, but our staff are here to help; treat them with respect, and cooperate with problem-solving. Abusing seller/support tools and harassing staff is not tolerated and will be subject to corrective action on the platform.  
  • Do Not Share any personal information (except names), including email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, social media links or accounts, or other contact information with other users
  • Do Not Spam: Do not send the same message over and over again.
  • We do not condone phishing of any sort.

Does Lasertrade monitor and store members' messages?

We may monitor messages (together with any attachments) sent between members for fraud, abuse, spam, illegal content and other policy violations. We keep a copy of all communications which can be used to help in these circumstances.

While we understand members may wish to keep communications private, if you contact members through channels other than Lasertrade, we can't help if problems arise.
